Background

A talented developer with specialist skills in audience growth and membership based generation. Michael's incredible experience in ecommerce and community based websites spans over a decade having developed one of the country's leading gaming portal websites allowing users to interact over the web or telephone lines, this was one of the first cases of interactive media using the web in the UK and had a subscriber base of over 200,000 back before the internet was even big! This website fetched offers from many companies including a Yahoo subsidiary in excess of $4 million. Michael then went on to create leading e-commerce solutions and set up several businesses operating purely on the web selling a range of products.

His achievements attracted the interest of national fulfilment house MMC who quickly established Michael as their Director of Business Development for the Digital division where he managed entire e-commerce projects from website development to full national and international order fulfilment processes.


Experience:

  • Developed and managed 'Trendinet' (www.trendinet.com) an online clothing retailer dealing in major international fashion brands such as Ben Sherman and FCUK.
  • Developed www.dvdinterests.com - a site selling special interest DVD's
  • Developed GetCommerced.com - a website selling e-commerce solutions including state of the art turnkey software
  • Created an Online dating service that enabled users to find their match and then communicate either via and integrated online instant messaging system, or SMS (text message). 50,000+ members.
  • Built a massively multi player online game, originally written in ASP with an MS SQL back end - 30,000 users



  • Created RaceD (www.webraced.com)A multi player online driving game which provides users with the opportunity to buy and tune their dream cars and race them in real-time against others. Built in Flash and ASP, using a Socket Server for real time interaction. 50,000 users
  • Play The Boss, Dorset Enterprise, Bournemouth. A multi player business management application, written in Flash, used in schools across the UK to teach students the basics of setting up in business. The game features a league table element that enables schools to compare their results with others
  • Set up and developed the entire fusion of a digital business and ecommerce company with a traditional fulfilment house for European online retail
